Tournaments

RealityPoker gives you an exciting opportunity to be a part of multi-table online poker tournaments . Poker tournaments are poker games which are played until one player gains all the chips. Prizes are distributed based on the number of entrants. For more information, see about poker tournaments . Take a look at the poker tournament rules at poker tournament rules before registering for one.

To play in a poker tournament, select the type of tournament from the “Tournament” option on the left of the main RealityPoker lobby under the options of “Poker” and “BlackJack”. Information about any tournament you select under either of these two options will be shown in the information box at the right. Find a tournament which has a state of "Registering" under the State column. All the details of every poker tournament game, such as game type ( Texas Holdem , Omaha , Omaha Hi/Lo ), structure (limit, no limit, pot limit), and buy-in are listed beside the state column. Double-click on a tournament in "Registering" state or click on the "Tournament Lobby" button and this opens the tournament lobby. Click the Register button, and log-in if you have not already done so. The software will confirm your registration. Many events will not allow you to un-register until one hour prior to the event. In that case, email us at support@realitypoker.com to have us un-register you immediately. Please include your User ID, and the tournament number you wish to be unregistered from.

You may take your seat by selecting the "Take your seat" button. Check the tournament lobby screen for registration and seat times. All players are assigned random table seats when tournament play begins. This is a counter-measure designed to prevent collusion and seat changes are not allowed.

Like a regular poker game, you may check, bet, raise, call or fold (as applicable). A "Time Bank" button appears in the chat window during your turn to act, which is shown after you receive a time warning. This allows players extra time to decide on a course of action during a tournament, and slowly keeps decreasing with each use throughout the tournament.

It is in the interest of the poker tournament player to keep an eye on the Tournament lobby to get updates on an on-going tournament. The lobby shows the current limit level for the tournament, information about players' stack sizes, and the breakdown of the prize pool. You can also get player information by clicking on “player info” button or a player's User ID. A player in a poker tournament can observe any other table by double-clicking on that table in the tournament lobby's table list, or clicking the "Observe Table" button. Players who are not participants may also observe any table of a tournament.
